Berkeley Optometry is hosting visitors from Mexico this week. It is an exciting time for optometry in Mexico, much of which is because of the efforts of our visitors. Dr Abraham Bromberg is a graduate of Berkeley Optometry (OD) and received a MSc from Houston. He has been an academic and professional leader for the profession in Mexico for nearly 50 years. Recently he wrote much of the legislative bill that finally made optometry a regulated and licensed profession in 2015.
The main reason for the current visit is that, along with Dr. Norma Hernandez, they have recently been given responsibility for opening a new School of Optometry within the UNAM system, a significant and important moment for optometry in Mexico.
Norma and Abraham are accompanied by Ana Maria Moran, a professor in the new School at the Leon UNAM campus.
Welcome!
