Members of the Refractive Surgery Center (RSC) team came together this past Friday, March 14th to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Center – the first ever of its kind at a school of optometry. Led by former Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs Dr. Edward Revelli – and supported by fundraising efforts from the optometry community – the RSC opened its doors in 2000 with the purpose of coordinating co-management care from the optometric community and top refractive surgeons.
At the celebration, Dr. Kathy Tran presented a slideshow that took everyone through the history of the center, and recognized the faculty and staff for their dedication and outstanding patient care. Dr. Tran was applauded for creating an inclusive environment where everyone is seen and appreciated, both in the workplace and beyond. The RSC team features Dr. Andy Sorenson, Dr. Mira Lim, Dr. Kathy Tran, Dr. Patrick Clark, Issaias Guerrero, Tiffany Rodriguez, Fabiola Higginbothom and Breanne See. Many thanks to Alcon for supporting this event and providing an educational update on Systane, which every patient utilizes as part of their surgical care.
