Our Optometry Student Life Committee and Big/Lil Sib Coordinators recently organized a fun and exciting student event, sponsored by National Vision. The Big/Lil Sib Program is a mentorship initiative that pairs first-year students (Lil Sibs) with upperclassmen (Big Sibs) to foster a supportive community, provide guidance, and strengthen connections at Berkeley.
The annual event gave students a great opportunity to bond and compete in team-based games within their “Big/Lil Sib” families. Teams faced off in fun challenges such as the human knot, three-legged race, water balloon toss, and flip cup, followed by a delicious lunch!
Big thanks to the committee – Ashley Jian, Kennedy Cofield, Carrington Clack, D’Angelo James, and Sarkis Margaryan – who worked closely with Big/Lil Sib Coordinators Kennedy Cofield and Monica Do to make this a success! Special recognition goes to Kennedy Cofield for her outstanding efforts both in the committee and as a coordinator.
Dr. Christy Sager, National Vision’s Optometry Student Relations Lead, shared a video highlighting the event. Watch the video at the link below.
