Michelle J. Hoff, OD, ABOAC, FNAO became a licensed optician in 1987 and has 3 degrees from the University of California Berkeley including her degree of Doctor of Optometry. She is a native Iowa who found her way to California in 1982.

Dr. Hoff has been a staff and faculty member of Berkeley’s School of Optometry since 1990. Her area of education is Ophthalmic Optics, but has taught Clinical Examination of the Eye and been a clinical instructor in Primary Care, Binocular Vision, and the Eyewear Center. She is also a faculty advisor for UCOSA’s Suitcase Clinic and Optometry Business Management Club.

Dr. Hoff is also passionate about community service. For several years, she has been a volunteer for Project Homeless Connect as a lead vision volunteer. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Mindful Eyes Foundation, a non-profit foundation whose mission is to provide prescription eyeglasses and to help arrange vision and eye health care appointments with community eye care professionals for individuals who are otherwise unable to obtain assistance through private insurance, welfare, or other social services agencies.
