Myopia-Related Electronic Device Use Study

Vision Science student Izdihar Salman is recruiting participants for her new study on myopia-related electronic device use. Her research aims to study the potential effects on myopia (nearsightedness or shortsightedness) progression of blue light filter and letter/background contrast screen settings on electronic devices.

Who is Eligible

– Ages 18-35 years old
– Undergraduates, Graduate, Postdoc enrolled at UC Berkeley
– Nearsighted (0.75-6.00 prescription)

Participation

You will be asked to reverse your blue light filter screen setting or background/letter contrast screen setting on your electronic devices for 2 weeks, then return to your habitual screen setting for another 2 weeks. Ocular measurements will be measured in Minor Hall, before, and at the end of each 2-weeks intervals.

Compensation

You will be compensated with a $25 gift card after each eye measurement visit!
