We are happy to announce the Marvin R. Poston Opportunity Fund. This fund, created with a leadership gift from Dr. Michael Harris, supports recruitment and outreach efforts to attract the best students from underrepresented populations and advance an inclusive graduate community at the School of Optometry. Named after the first Black student to graduate from the School of Optometry, Dr. Marvin R. Poston is a member of the Berkeley Optometry Hall of Fame, and is nationally recognized and respected as an optometrist, community leader, role model, and statesman. His life is a reflection of hard work, determination, and accomplishment. This fund will be published on the Give to Berkeley website within the next few days, where interested donors can make contributions. Alternatively, if you wish to donate to this fund immediately, you can visit the fund’s Crowdfunding page.
