“The American Academy of Optometry Foundation is pleased to announce the biennial, Jill and George Mertz OD/PhD Fellowship. This award is designed to help the best and brightest clinician-optometrists who demonstrate exceptional potential transition into a career that includes research and academic optometry.The awardee will receive $30,000 (US dollars), payable over two years, and the fellowship will be awarded in congruence with enrollment into a vision or related biomedical science PhD program.” – AAOF
