Every year, dozens of graduate students and postdocs apply to be chosen for the Henry Wheeler Center for Emerging and Neglected Diseases (CEND) fellowship program. This is a professional development fellowship program that supports students interested in infectious disease research by providing funds for educational and networking opportunities.
Orneika Flandrin has been chosen as the 2020 Kathleen L. Miller Fellow. This fellowship is traditionally awarded to women engaged in the study of emerging and neglected infectious diseases, ranging from basic science to economics. Orneika is a second year PhD student in our UC Berkeley Vision Science program, and a member of the Fleiszeg-Evans laboratory.
