We are happy to congratulate third-year optometry student Vickie Kuo for winning the California Optometric Association’s 2025 Low Vision Rehabilitation Section Scholarship!
Dr. Marlena Chu, Chief of Low Vision Services, shared the following sentiments in honor of Vickie’s award:
“Vickie has been a vibrant member of the low vision community since before optometry school, volunteering with the East Bay Center for the Blind. She was the natural choice for president of the Berkeley Optometry Low Vision Student Club, taking the reins from 4th year founders Alisa Molina and ThuVan Nguyen. With a large student enrollment and crafting engaging meetings, Vickie is quickly establishing a strong foundation for early clinician interest and involvement in all things love vision.” – Dr. Marlena Chu
