National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Examinations

National Boards Part II (Clinical Science) takes place in fall of 4th year and National Boards Part III (Clinical Skills) takes place in the 4th year.

to familiarize yourself with the exams and deadlines for registration. If you plan to make specific arrangements for alternate test site administration, please be mindful of the deadlines which are usually earlier than the regular deadlines. You may take the exams at any time at any location, however, students are excused from clinic for Part II in the fall and for Part III (Berkeley administration only) in the spring. If you plan to take the tests on dates when clinicians are not excused from clinic, you will have to request time off from clinic. Please refer to the Clinic calendars for specific dates.
