Berkeley PEDIG Team Wins Awards

Berkeley alums at PEDIG event.
Congratulations to our outstanding faculty!

We are proud to announce that the UC Berkeley team won two awards at the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) Winter Study Group Meeting in Tampa, FL. The team received the 2024 Top Recruiter Award for ATS22, “A Randomized Trial to Evaluate Sequential vs Simultaneous Spectacles plus Patching for Amblyopia in Children 3 to 13 Years Old,” and the 2024 Top Recruiter Award for ATS23, “A Randomized Trial of Virtual Reality Video Treatment for Amblyopia in Children 4 to 7 Years of Age.”

These awards were given to only two sites that enrolled the highest number of patients in these clinical trials. This recognition enables the network to drive advancements in clinical research and contribute to establishing clinical standards in pediatric eye care. As the team did not submit for these awards, it was a pleasant surprise!

Members of the UCB PEDIG group include Drs. Debora Lee Chen, Jennifer Fisher, Yasmin Javed, Katherine Lai, Shayda Mardi, Vivian Nguyen, Sarah Singh, Anne Tasaki, and Celia Yeung; as well as Coordinator Yoofi Mensah. In the event photo, from left to right, are Drs. Yeung, Chen, Fisher, Tasaki, and Javed. Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved recognition!
