AOA Board Visits our School

This month, the American Optometric Association (AOA) Board of Trustees were welcomed to campus by Associate Deans Drs. Mika Moy, Christina Wilmer, and Nancy McNamara to experience a day in the life at Berkeley. Between touring the campus and hosting board meetings at the renowned Faculty Club, board members were eager to talk with third-year optometry students and residents about how students can be more invested into the promotion of optometry as a profession.

Student leaders, including Alin Torosian (American Optometric Student Association Trustee), Samantha Ito (Bay Area Optometric Council Student Representative), and Hye Kyung Moon (Class of 2026 Co-President), also had a unique opportunity to present current initiatives to the Executive Board of the California Optometric Association (COA). The AOA Board of Trustees were later joined by faculty and administration during a reception and dinner where they were able to discuss health policies pertaining to California optometry.
