Who Can Attend?

All alumni of the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science are welcome, whether or not you’re participating in the CE program.

Special Recognition

We’re celebrating milestone reunions for alumni who graduated in years ending in 4 and 9. These groups will enjoy:

• Designated areas for reconnecting over dinner
• Commemorative gifts

Evening Schedule

5:30 PM: Arrival and mingling
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM: Open bar and appetizers
7:00 PM: Buffet dinner

Throughout the evening: music, photo opportunities, and entertainment.

Venues

CE: Continuing education classes will be held at the Li Ka-Shing Center, UC Berkeley.

Reunion: The reception and reunion celebration will be at Cornerstone Brewery in Berkeley. The reception starts at 5:30 PM following the conclusion of CE on September 28th.

Parking & Transportation

When you register online, you will have the option to add parking at the Genetics Parking garage on Oxford, beginning 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. You must have registered for parking to receive a permit to park in the Genetics Parking garage.

After the day’s CE programming at Li Ka-Shing, attendees can walk or drive to Cornerstone Brewery. There will be transportation from Li Ka-Shing for those with accessibility needs.

Shuttles
A shuttle service will be available from Li Ka-Shing to the Reunion Celebration at Cornerstone Brewery, then back to the Li Ka-Shing parking at the conclusion of the event on Saturday. The shuttle will be available to those who indicated a need on the registration form.

Attire & Weather

The general dress code for reunions is casual and comfortable. September is beautiful in Berkeley. Average temperatures range from 65 to 75 degrees during the day and 53 to 57 degrees at night. We recommend bringing layers.

Wi-Fi Access

Wi-Fi connectivity is generally available throughout most buildings on campus. You may use CalVisitor, an open Wi-Fi network that requires no password.

Class Photos

Join classmates for a class photo during your Reunion Celebration. Class specific photo times will be posted at the registration table.

Guest Policy

• Guests are welcome!
• Please register guests when you sign up for the dinner on our Registration Page
• Children are allowed (contact Taylor Reifert for details)

Tour the Berkeley Campus & Minor Hall

While you’re back in Berkeley, take advantage of the many offerings available on campus in September! There are endless opportunities to explore, from museums and libraries to performing arts and film. For more information on happenings at Cal, please click here.

Additionally, we will be giving tours of Minor Hall, the Eye Clinic, and the campus: Tours start at Minor Beach on Friday, September 27th at 4:30 PM. Please email optoalumni@berkeley.edu if you are interested in a tour for these tours.
