The following is a list of recommended courses at this institution that will fulfill the minimum prerequisites for Berkeley Optometry. Advanced upper-division courses in these subjects may be substituted for any of the lower division courses listed below. Courses have to be taken for a letter grade. Courses for which AP credit was received may be counted as long as they are listed on your college transcript. - Organic Chemistry (Lecture and Lab): CHEM 8A, 8L
- Biochemistry (Lecture only, Lab preferred): BMB 100A or CHEM 103
- General Biology (Lecture and Lab): MCDB 20A**, EEB 20B, MCDB 20L, EEB 20C
- General Physics (Lecture and Lab): PHYS 5A, 5L, 5B, 5M, 5C, 5N or PHYS 6A, 6L, 6B, 6M, 6C, 6N
- Anatomy (Lecture only, Lab strongly recommended): METX135
- Human Physiology (Lecture and Lab): MCDB 130, 130L
- Microbiology (Lecture only, Lab optional): METX 119
- Calculus: MATH 11A or MATH 22
- Statistics AMS 5 or AMS 7
- Reading and Comp: Any 3 courses from the Writing Program
- Psychology: PSYC 1
