Optometry Prerequisites
As listed in the 2015-2016 Catalog
The following is a list of recommended courses at this institution that will fulfill the minimum prerequisites for Berkeley Optometry. Advanced upper-division courses in these subjects may be substituted for any of the lower division courses listed below. Courses have to be taken for a letter grade. Courses for which AP credit was received may be counted as long as they are listed on your college transcript. Our office has updated these courses to the best of our knowledge based upon the school catalog.

- General Chemistry: Chem 101, 101L and Chem 102*, 102L*
- Organic Chemistry: Chem 333, 333L
- Biochemistry: Chem 365 or Chem 464
- General Biology: Biol 106, 106L and Biol 107, 107L
- Calculus: Math 150A or 255A
- General Physics: Phys 100A, 100AL and Phys 100B, 100BL
- Reading & Composition: Engl 155, and another writing course
- Microbiology: Biol 215 or Biol 315
- Physiology: Biol 281, 282
- Anatomy: Biol 211, 212, or Biol 310 AND 310L (preferred)
- Statistics: Math 140
- Psychology: Psy 150
- Immunology: Biol 485
*CSUN requires Chem 102, 102L as a prerequisite for Chem 333
