The following is a list of recommended courses at this institution that will fulfill the minimum prerequisites for Berkeley Optometry. Advanced upper-division courses in these subjects may be substituted for any of the lower division courses listed below. Courses have to be taken for a letter grade. Courses for which AP credit was received may be counted as long as they are listed on your college transcript. Our office has updated these courses to the best of our knowledge based upon the school catalog. - Organic Chemistry (Lecture and Lab): CHEM 333, 333L or CHEM 235, 235L
- Biochemistry (Lecture only, Lab preferred): CHEM 365 or CHEM 461 or CHEM 464
- General Biology (Lecture and Lab): BIOL 106, 106L, 107, 107L
- General Physics (Lecture and Lab): PHYS 100A, 100AL, 100B, 100BL or PHYS 220A, 220AL, 220B, 220BL
- Anatomy (Lecture only, Lab strongly recommended): BIOL 211, 212 or BIOL 213, 212 or BIOL 382*, 382L*, 383*, 383L*
- Human Physiology (Lecture and Lab): BIOL 281, 282 or BIOL 382*, 382L*, 383*, 383L*
- Microbiology (Lecture only, Lab optional): BIOL 215 or BIOL 315
- Calculus: MATH 150A or MATH 255A
- Statistics: MATH 140
- Reading & Comp: ENGL 113A, 113B or Equivalent
- Psychology: PSY 150
