ACCCOS Donation of PPE

Thank you ACCCOS for your generous donation of PPE!

The Alameda Contra Costa County Optometric Society (ACCCOS) kindly donated PPE to Berkeley Optometry. We received approximately 160 allotments for each clinical faculty member and student who are working in the clinic. So we received:

  • 4,800 N95s
  • 17,700 surgical masks
  • 16,900 gloves
  • 174 face shields
  • 172 gal hand sanitizer
  • 128 gal disinfectant

Special thanks to Berkeley faculty member and ACCCOS trustee, Dr. Melanie Mason, and the rest of the ACCCOS Board Members for making this donation happen!

Dr. Mason arranged a storage unit to pick up from EMS and deliver to my house and then she started distribution. So far, she has arranged over 100 appointments for PPE distribution either from her house or from one of her 13 OD volunteers throughout Alameda who took supplies back to their offices to help. Approximately 270 docs and 120 OD students in Alameda County have received PPE from them.

Thanks again ACCCOS for helping us stay safe and healthy! You can read more about ACCCOS at acccos.org.
