The Graduate Assembly is UC Berkeley’s official legislative body for graduate and professional students. Each department has 1 graduate student delegate for every 100 students in their department. Optometry has three students representing the school, as well as 1 alternate. It provides a space for delegates to discuss issues that impact graduate students, the campus, the community. The GA creates policies to help define the position of graduate students on campus and provides resolution to issues as they arrive. GA delegates sit on several academic and campus committees to provide the Graduate Student viewpoint on issues. They also provide funding for graduate student events and clubs. Ask your delegates about the process of applying for this funding at the start of each semester.

The GA meets once a month and also hosts events for the graduate student population throughout the year! Any student can attend meetings or events!

Find and contact your delegate here if you are interested in becoming a delegate or have questions about the GA.
