All BSK members are given a Certificate of Membership, a gold cord to proudly wear and keep upon graduation, the annual newsletter the Ocularum, and an invitation to the annual BSK Membership Meeting at the AAO meeting. The BSK Silver Medal Award is awarded annually at graduation to the graduate BSK member who epitomizes the mission of BSK at Berkeley Optometry. BSK members have the opportunity to apply for a BSK Student Research Grant to support a research endeavor.
Membership eligibility requires each member to have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater at the conclusion of each academic year.
Student Testimonial
“In the final weeks of my second-year Spring semester, I felt at a loss about how to prepare for my pharmacology final. I met [with my tutor] for three hours and discussed practice questions. Different people have different study strategies, and having her show me her pharmacology study strategy really helped me with the final.”
