Our Students
At the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science, community is important. Our graduating classes are small — about 70 students per class — so students really get a chance to know each other. We work hard together and we have fun together too. The spirit of collaboration is strong. And while many of our students and faculty come from different places and backgrounds, together we create a vibrant and dynamic community that seeks to create a better world. Sharing interests and working toward common goals creates bonds that endure — the people you meet here will become your colleagues and your friends for life.

One of the special features of student life at Berkeley Optometry is the feeling of community; our students enter as individuals but quickly become a “family.” And this is family that works hard together, but also has fun. We go white water rafting, skiing, have parties in San Francisco, and more!
