Sonoma Valley Community Health Center, along with its partner organization, Petaluma Health Center, is recruiting for an Optometrist to join our progressive, interdisciplinary team. This position is full-time, based in Sonoma 3-4 days/week and in Petaluma 1-2 days/week (total 5 days per week).

Our mission is to provide high quality health care and to increase access to eye care services for residents of Sonoma County. As an optometrist with SVCHC, you’ll have the unique opportunity to practice in a team-based environment that is integrated with primary care.

We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), organized as a private, non-profit corporation and governed by a consumer and community led Board of Directors. This position qualifies full-time employees for the Department of Education’s Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

We are looking for an Optometrist to perform full-scope routine and medical eye care to our diverse patient population. Optometrist responsibilities include examining, diagnosing, treating, and managing eye disorders, diseases, and injuries that manifest in the eye, along with prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and referring to subspecialists as appropriate. To be successful in this role, you should have attention to detail and a strong public health focus. Our patients range from young children to the elderly, have diverse backgrounds, and often have special needs.
