Join Our Thriving Optometry Practice! Even as a New Grad!

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Doctor of Optometry (OD) to lead our practice at Pomerado Scripps Eye Care (PSEC) in Poway, CA.

As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the overall health of our patients’ eyes. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation.

In this role, you will:

– Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any abnormalities or diseases

– Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or other appropriate treatments as necessary

– Provide expert advice and guidance on proper eye care and hygiene

– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists, to coordinate patient care

– Educate patients on various eye conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures

– Conduct specialized examinations for specific patient populations, such as pediatrics or geriatrics

– Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to evaluate eye health and diagnose conditions

– Stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry practices and technologies

– Partner with the practice staff to promote the practice and build patient volume

– Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in optometry.

Job Requirements
Experience:

– Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
– Valid state license to practice optometry

** If you’ve already graduated from The Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science and plan to become licensed shortly, until then, we can have a licensed official with you in person during the days that the clinic is open and that you’re working.**

– Proven experience in providing exceptional patient care
– Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
– Familiarity with optical principles and lens options
– Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and prescribing corrective lenses
– Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients of all ages and backgrounds
– Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
