The 2020 Reunion CE and Celebration are going virtual for the safety and convenience of all our doctors. All ODs are invited to participate in the live virtual CE held in the month of October. Berkeley OD alumni are eligible for special discounted pricing as an alumni benefit. Refund Procedures

All cancellations must be made in writing by email to optoce@berkeley.edu. We do not accept phone cancellations.Cancellation requests made through Friday, September 18th will receive a full refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. Any cancellations received after September 18th will not receive a refund.

Program Changes

If you make any changes in the dates of your attendance, you will be charged the fees that are in effect on the date you make the changes. Changes in your registration must be made by email to optoce@berkeley.edu and are contingent on availability. All program changes must be made by Monday, September 28th.

Featured Speaker: Michael G. Harris, OD, JD, MS

The Sheldon M. Golden Conference on AMD (October 24-25) will feature Dr. Michael G. Harris, Clinical Professor Emeritus and Senior Lecturer Emeritus at the School of Optometry, where he has served as a faculty member for some 50 years. A noted lecturer and researcher in cornea physiology and contact lenses, Dr. Harris is the co-discoverer of the osmotic theory for contact lens adaptation (1968–69) and co-author of the first scientific paper that proved gas-permeable contact lenses produced less corneal edema than hard (PMMA) contact lenses (1977). He has lectured worldwide and has authored or coauthored over 200 scientific papers and articles on contact lenses, corneal physiology, optometric jurisprudence, and other topics. Dr. Harris has also published four texts on contact lenses and contributed chapters on contact lenses and vision care law in numerous books. This month’s CE Conferences includes 13 hours of Online CE and will be COPE approved. These high-quality interactive lectures meet the live-in person CE requirements of the California State Board of Optometry. Please note: partial attendance of a COPE course does not count towards COPE CE. All attendees that do not require COPE accreditation should verify with their state board if these webinars will count towards live CE credit. Schedule subject to change.
