Our annual school magazine is available to view on our website at this link. For this year’s issue we have a fresh new design, and a new name: See. We think that the new name nicely captures both the clinical eye care and vision science research aspects of our program.
Inside you will find feature articles about our school’s efforts to tackle glaucoma, both in the clinic and in the lab; breakthroughs in optogenetic vision therapy; and a profile on the remarkable life of Dr. Gerald Westheimer, Berkeley’s charismatic centenarian vision scientist.
Also new this year are opinion essays written by our students, covering topics on the impact of funding cuts on scientific research; as well as thoughts on expanding the scope of optometry in California to better serve patients. We hope you enjoy it!
