The annual National Optometric Association conference was held this July in Anaheim.

Alumni, faculty, and students represented Berkeley at the annual National Optometric Association conference in Anaheim, CA on July 7-10. This was the first in-person conference since 2019 for the NOA and NOSA (National Optometric Student Association).

Congratulations to NOSA President, Joanna Lopez (’25), recipient of the National Vision Grant and the Walmart Leadership Award; and to Lauren King (’25), recipient of the Comer Community Service Award.

DEIB Director and Associate Clinical Professor, Dr. Ruth Shoge, delivered two presentations at the conference: “Warning Signs and Symptoms in Children’s Vision” and “Adverse Childhood Experiences and the Long-lasting Systemic Effects.”
