The San Francisco Bay Area is a nine-county region famous for an exciting blend of cultural activities and beautiful scenery. The city of San Francisco, located across the bay from Berkeley, offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, SF Bay, and the Marin Headlands. Its diversity of neighborhoods — many situated atop dramatic hills or bordering public parks — add a special flavor to this spectacular city. Within a few hours driving distance from the immediate Bay Area, travelers can also find magnificent landscapes, including Yosemite Valley and Lake Tahoe.
