Building Emergency Plan (BEP)

As a building occupant, you should be familiar with the Building Emergency Plan (BEP). If you have any questions, consult your Department Safety Officer or Safety Committee representative. The plan covers such areas as evacuation routes, locations of emergency supplies and materials, proper procedures for notifying emergency responders about an emergency in the building or work area, fire hazards, and potential for exposure to hazardous materials, and ways to protect yourself in the event of an emergency.

It is the policy of the University of California, Berkeley to maintain a safe and healthful work environment for each employee (including student and contract employees), and to comply with all applicable occupational health and safety regulations. The UCB School Of Optometry Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) is intended to establish a framework for identifying and correcting workplace hazards within the department, while addressing legal requirements for a formal, written IIPP.
