The Tang Center at 2222 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA provides urgent and primary care outpatient health services to UC Berkeley
students, plus selected services to faculty and staff. Constructed in 1991-92, the center was fashioned as a
three-story, T-shaped building with a central glazed atrium and clinic / administrative wings. The building
incorporates traditional regional design elements reminiscent of those used by the famed architect Bernard Maybeck.
The structure is made of concrete and steel, its facade surfaced with terracotta-colored stucco and blue curtain
walls. The north courtyard includes the small Mediterranean-style Founders Building (built in 1942), now serving
as the Tang Center's Career and Educational Guidance Library. The Tang Eye Center is located on the third floor.
